Today
I write software for researchers at University College London, UK, as a member of the Research Software Development Group.
Besides this, I am an active contributor to many free and open-source software, mainly oriented to scientific computing and written in Julia. I am also co-maintainer of GNU AUCTeX.
Education and Past Experiences
During my PhD in Physics at University of Salento, Italy, I studied exoplanets with the method of gravitational microlensing. After that, I got a Postdoctoral position at University of L’Aquila, Italy, working on the GERDA Particle Physics experiment. I then had a short but intense experience working in industry as software engineer consultant for a company in the defence sector.
